Awards

Overall:

  • 1st - 4th win prize money (see table).
  • 1st - 10th receive a trophy.
  • 1st receives a lifetime comp entry into either race.
  • 2nd - 10th receive a comp entry into either race the following year.

Masters (40+):

  • 1st - 5th win a trophy and a comp entry into either race the following year.

Age-Groups:

  • 1st receives a half-priced entry into either race the following year.
  • 1st - award depth (see below) receive a trophy.

Age-groups are 16-19 and then 5-year increments (20-24, 25-29, etc) with the following depths:

  • <35 registered: 3 deep
  • 35-49 registered: 4 deep
  • 50+ registered: 5 deep

Bonuses and Bounties:

In addition to the awards listed above, various bonuses and bounties have been established for runners who set a new course record. (See table)

Triple Crown of Running Series Awards:

  • The overall male and female and the masters overall male and female receive a comp entry into the TCR Series the following year.
  • The top 5 overall male and female and the top 5 five masters male and female receive a half-priced entry into the TCR Series the following year.

Precedence of Awards:

Precedence of awards will be Overall, Masters and then Age-group. Masters awards will be adjusted for Overall award winners. Age-group awards will be adjusted for Overall & Masters award winners.

* Course record bounty can be won in the Ascent or the ascent portion of the Marathon. However, if the runner wins the Ascent Time Bounty, the Record Bounty does not apply.

** Time bounty can be won in the Ascent or the ascent portion of the Marathon. $5,000 bounty started in 2012 and increases $1,000 a year until rewarded capping at $10,000. Woman's bounty won and reset in 2012.

Awards Presentations

Times and Location

Times and locations for the award presentations will be as follows:

  • Ascent: Saturday at 5pm, or as close as we can get to that time, in Memorial Park. Please be patient; it takes a long time to get all the results from the summit. Relax, hang out. Enjoy the Post-Race Party or a massage.
  • Marathon: Sunday at 3:00pm in Soda Springs Park.

Awards No Shows:

Top 10 Overall and top 5 Masters must be present at the awards presentation to receive their awards. Age-group award winners can pick them up in the office or have it mailed to them for $20.

Finisher Awards

Everyone who beats the race cut-off times (Ascent: 6h30m00s, Marathon 10h00m00s) will receive a finisher medal and Jacket.
