Thursday, August 18th (Alamo Square Park, 200 S. Tejon St, Downtown Colorado Springs)

Friday, August 19th (Memorial Park, Manitou Springs)

  • 9:00AM-7PM: Packet Pick-up and Race Expo
  • Ascent and Marathon apparel for sale all weekend
  • 1:30PM: Elite Athlete Press Conference
  • 4:30PM-6:00PM: Peak Busters Program
  • 5:30-7:00PM: Kiwanis Club Spaghetti Dinner, $12
  • 6:00PM: 60th Running Presentation & Video
  • 6:30PM: Q&A Session

Saturday, August 20th (Memorial Park, Start Line)

  • 5:30-7:15AM: Sweat check adjacent to start. Packet pickup (Ascent only)
  • 6:45AM: Pre-Race Ceremony
  • 7:00AM: First wave start at 600 block of Manitou Avenue. Runners #1-199
  • 7:30AM: Toll road to Pikes Peak summit opens
  • 7:02AM -> 7:25: Remaining waves start on 1 minute intervals.
  • 9:05AM: Approximate time for first male finishers.
  • 9:25AM: Approximate time for first female finishers.
  • 11:00AM: First shuttle bus from summit arrives in Manitou Springs.*
  • 11:00-4:00PM: Post Race Celebration & Beer Garden in Memorial Park
  • 12:00-7:00PM: Race Expo
  • 1:00-7:00PM: Marathon Packet pickup
  • 2:00PM: Finish line closes
  • 4:30-7:00pm: Kiwanis Club Spaghetti Dinner, $12
  • 5:30PM: Ascent awards presentation
  • 6:00PM: 60th Running Presentation & Video
  • *Ascent Finisher shirts/results posted in Memorial Park as they are received.

Sunday, August 21st (Start/Finish Line, Soda Springs Park)

  • 5:30-6:45AM: Sweat check adjacent to start; packet pickup (Marathon)
  • 7:00AM: First wave start at 600 block of Manitou Avenue. Runners #1-199
  • 7:02AM -> 7:15: Remaining waves start on 1 minute intervals.
  • 10:20AM: Approximate time for first male finishers.
  • 11:15AM: Approximate time for first female finishers.
  • 12:00-5:00PM: Post Race Celebration & Beer Garden at Soda Springs Park
  • 3:00PM: Awards presentation (Soda Springs Park)
  • 5:10PM: Finish line officially closes

Kiwanis Club Carbo Feed

Pikes Peak Ascent and Marathon Carbo Feed An ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT carbo feed presented by the Manitou Springs Kiwanis Club and open to all runners, families and guests. Unlimited pasta and potatoes and all the fixings including dessert. Join other runners for some fun, good times and a great meal! The cost is $12.00 per person and you may pay at the door.

Dinner proceeds are used to support:

  • Scouting
  • Local education & leadership projects for youth
  • Local and worldwide concerns for young children
City Hall in the 600 block of Manitou Avenue which is also the race start line. It is approximately 6 miles west of Colorado Springs.

Friday, August 19 from 4:30 to 6:00 pm

PPA/M Expo Tent In Memorial Park

Calling all female current and past runners, as well as female race supporters! Chat with experts as they share their success tips and secrets. Hear what Donna Messenger, first place finisher for her age division, has to say about maintaining a mountain top attitude all the way to the finish line. Get an insider's look at the behind the scenes runners' support, and more with all the up to date info you need to have a successful run on race day. Rub elbows with fellow Pikes Peak running mates. Enjoy humorous personal stories and tales from past runners including the hilarious Sister Marion Irvine; Arlene Pieper Stine, first ever female Pikes Peak Marathon finisher and her daughter Kathy who finished the Ascent at 8 years of age (1959); Caroline Merrill who ran across America with her best friend Annabel Marsh in 1984 and Jan Seeley, publisher of Marathon and Beyond.

This gathering of lady runners is a must for all female Pikes Peak runners past, present and most especially, first timers. Come fill your cup with stories, wisdom and get the support necessary to Successfully tackle PIKES PEAK for a truly PEAK 'MOUNTAIN TOP' EXPERIENCE.

Post-Race Massage

Colorado Institute of Massage Therapy Pikes Peak Massage / Colorado Institute of Massage Therapy will be providing postrace massage:
  • Ascent, Memorial Park, 11:30 - 4:30pm
  • Marathon, Soda Springs Park, 12:00 - 5:00pm
15 minutes - $10.00, 30 minutes - $20

Massage is set up on a first-come, first-served basis.
