I have run the Ascent 8 times, 5 times was great weather, once it snowed over night and there was ice, water and slush above tree line. Once it hailed 6" starting about 4 hours into the first wave. I was one of the lucky ones I finished before the hail and was in a van. We were stopped for hour and a half at the devils playground waiting for the roads to be plowed, others were trapped on top for three hours, and once there was a full blown blizzard with only 45% finishing. Believe for great weather but come prepared. Only one time of the eight I did not need a wind breaker above tree line. In response to: WOW! Yes, I worry about what may come on Aug. 18th! Last year I lucked out and missed rain (and snow)!
