That sounds like a great way to keep indoor/treadmill training interesting and fun! In response to: I have done several including the PPA. The display has 3 modes (map, satellite and street). Map and satellite views are identical to that in Google Maps. The street view is the actual photos taken by the Google vehicle with the cameras on top as it drives down the street. The 10" color screen will switch between the 3 modes or you can select one. When you push the START button at the PPA start line, the incline increases to +2% and you can see the street view just beyond city hall. After a bit the incline increase to +4% and you will see that you are approaching the Stagecoach Inn. After it bit it returns to +2% as you proceed down Manitou Ave. and you will recognize the buildings in the downtown area. At the roundabout it turns left to proceed along Ruxton Ave. A minute or so after passing Hydro St. the street view is no longer available. The Barr Trail is displayed on the Google Map, but does not always overlay the actual trail shown in the satellite view, but it is close. There are many places below timberline where the Barr Trail is not visible in the satellite view and the map view of the 16 Golden Stairs does not represent the actual Barr Trail. The Incline of the treadmill follows the Barr trail closely and even goes to -2% decline for a short period before and after Bob's Road. There are individual buttons to select the speed from 1 to 12 mph in 1 mph increments. There is also another button to adjust the speed in +or- 0.1 mph increments. In response to: So have you tried one of the workouts with Google maps?? That sounds sooo cool!!! In response to: I got a NordicTrack X9 Incline Treadmill. It adjusts from a 40% incline to a 6% decline. Should be ideal for training for the PPA. It has a 10" Android touch screen display and is integrated with Google maps. Just trace the route you plan to run (eg. PPA) in Google maps, upload to the X9 (wifi) and run the route. It adjusts the incline as you run.
